Hi, I’m Alison Yost.

Communicator | Strategist | Changemaker

I'm passionate about using strategic communications to drive positive change on critical issues. Throughout my career, I've led high-profile outreach campaigns, raising awareness for issues like affordable housing, net neutrality, and climate justice. I excel at developing impactful communications plans – from thought leadership campaigns to social media strategies – that cut through the noise to reach diverse audiences.

I'm driven by the desire to translate complex policy issues into clear and compelling narratives. I thrive on crafting content that inspires action and empowers people to access the resources they need. I'm excited to leverage my skills to build impactful communications that create positive social change.

I honed my communications expertise at leading organizations like New America, a prominent DC-based civic enterprise. As Director of Events, Production, Editorial, and Communications, I led efforts across multiple policy programs. Previously, I spearheaded communications outreach for New America's Open Technology Institute, focusing on technology policy. My career also includes experience with the SEEP Network (international development), the Stimson Center (international security), and other NGOs in Washington, D.C. and abroad. I hold an MA in International Communications and a BA in International Studies, both from American University.
